Our Cookbook Blog

Our Cookbook ~ What We Cook, is a compilation of every recipe we (Janice and Carissa) cook - recipes from our cookbook collections, our recipe boxes, and our heads! We set up this blog for friends and family who have our cookbook to let them see pictures we post of the recipes in the book, and also for us to note any corrections, revisions, or additions to What We Cook. We encourage people who are cooking our recipes to let us know how the recipes turn out and any suggestions they might want to make.

In addition, we will be sharing some of our new recipes (along with pictures) that are not in our cookbook. We hope you will help us out and test recipes and give us your comments.

Popovers ~ page 286

I was making a pot roast last week and Adam's favorite bread with a roast is popovers. But I only had one egg and the recipe called for 2, so I had to half the recipe. Adam was so sad that he only got one popover, said that it was probably one of his favorite things that I make! Anyway, here is what a popover pan looks like and here is how much batter I used...it barely filled up to the half way mark...but that doesn't matter...scroll down and see how tall and fluffy they got!
These are moist and soft inside, unlike any other kind of bread, it is hard to describe, you just gotta try them!
