Hi Janice, well this is my finished "Perfect Chocolate Layer Cake" and it is really delish and ready to eat!!! I used Hershey's Dark Chocolate if you're wondering why the chocolate is so dark and it is really chocolaty, rich, and very good if you are a fan of dark chocolate; which we are! As you can see I used 3-8" cake pans. I did find this to be a moist chocolate cake and I agree w/Carissa a very good B'day cake...a real keeper...Kathy Schapals
By the way, this is my first time to blog so I hope I did all correctly!
Our Cookbook Blog
Our Cookbook ~ What We Cook, is a compilation of every recipe we (Janice and Carissa) cook - recipes from our cookbook collections, our recipe boxes, and our heads! We set up this blog for friends and family who have our cookbook to let them see pictures we post of the recipes in the book, and also for us to note any corrections, revisions, or additions to What We Cook. We encourage people who are cooking our recipes to let us know how the recipes turn out and any suggestions they might want to make.
In addition, we will be sharing some of our new recipes (along with pictures) that are not in our cookbook. We hope you will help us out and test recipes and give us your comments.

Kathy--your cake looks awesome! I like to use 3 layers in cakes too, 'cause I like them really tall. (And your blue hydrangeas are lovely also.)
You did great with your post--I added a couple things (I can do that from this end)--a label on the right bottom of the post will put the post in the correct file for archives; I added a page number on the title to help people find the recipe; then I did a little trick I love...I sent your lovely picture to this site: www.picnik.com This free site lets you crop your photos. I love big pictures so I added a close up of your pretty cake to your post. Happy eating tonight--many of us will be jealous!
